Dr. Aquib Moin is an Associate Professor of Astrophysics and Space Science at the Department of Physics, UAE University in Al Ain - UAE. He has a background in Astrophysics of Extreme Events in the Universe associated with Gamma-Ray Bursts, Neutron Star and Black Hole Binary Systems and his work has largely been observational in nature.

More recently, he got much more involved in working at the intersection of AI/ML and Space Exploration as part of the AI/ML Working Group for NASA's Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO) mission. He is particularly interested in exploring ways in which the application of AI/ML can be advantageous across the entire Space Mission lifecycle and is engaged in developing solutions around it.

In addition, Dr. Moin is also working on an Astrodynamics project that involves developing the ecosystem for Space Situational Awareness empowered by AI/ML for data intelligence on spacecraft demographics in near-Earth Space.

Dr. Aquib Moin led the teams that designed and implemented the BSc and MSc Space Science programs at the UAE University and he regularly teaches several space-related courses at the University. He is also very active in public outreach and science communication for which he regularly appears in local and international events.
