Krishnamurthy Manjunatha is a Bangalore-based Space scientist, Inventor, Entrepreneur,
and Educator with over 25 years of industry experience in Electronics, Space Systems &
software and is currently driving advancements in space technology, STEM education, and
government-led science initiatives in India. He holds a Master’s in Computer Science from
Regis University (USA) and a Bachelor’s in Electronics & Communication Engineering from
JNNCE (India), and also pursued the MBA program at Georgia State University. He is the
Founder of Orbit To Space, focused on developing advanced spacecraft systems and patented
interplanetary transport architectures, and Founder of Planet Mars, creating STEM platforms
for students from school to engineering levels. As Chairman of Mars Home Base Organization
and Member Researcher at Mars Society (USA), he advances research on Mars settlement
and human spaceflight. He also contributes to the Karnataka Science and Technology
Academy (KSTA), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore
and is playing a key role in initiatives such as promoting Quantum Computing Education in
Karnataka, establishment of Biosphere Facility in Bangalore, Establishment of Space
Museum modelled on Huntsville’s U.S. Rocket & Space Centre, Science City Bangalore, and
BASE-E Missions using ISRO’s SSLV rocket. His granted and pending patents include a novel
re-entry method for reusable rockets, rocket stage to orbital space station transformation
systems, modular propellant tank layout system for reusable rockets, Modular
Interplanetary Transport system and advanced spacecraft docking systems. Guided by the
vision to make India a global leader in space exploration, Mars settlement, and experiential
STEM education, he works to ensure that space innovation serves both Earth and humanity’s
interplanetary future.
